Black Bear

As with the white tail our country is made for bears.  From the valley floor to high mountain meadows, tree species range from cotton wood, Doug fur, Cedars, to Sub Alpine.  Baiting bear is not allowed in unit one.  The only allowed hunting methods are spotting and stalking.  Spring time is a good time to hunt bear on old logging roads and clear cuts.  In the fall we hunt old burns, mountain meadows with lots of huckleberries; our back country hunt is very good with lots of color phases. Bears run 250-500 pounds.  On our spring trips we often combine a white water rafting trip or a turkey hunt if you wish.
